Written by H. Rider Haggard, an adventure novelist known for pioneering the lost world genre. He wrote on the lighter end of Victorian literature, also being involved in agricultural reform throughout the British Empire.

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. A couple of minor marks to the boards. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with some spots.
