    Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

    The sixth edition of this study of the butterflies of Great Britain by parson-naturalist, ornithologist and entomologist Francis Orpen Morris, first published in 1853.

    Illustrated with seventy-two hand coloured plates. Collated, complete.

    With a four page publisher's catalogue tipped in to the front pastedown.

    A beautifully illustrated study.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with loss and fraying to cloth at back strip head. Small splits to cloth at front joint, with cloth fraying to cloth of front joint. Front hinge starting, with board slightly tender. Internally, binding strained throughout. One plate detached but present. Pages lightly age toned, but generally clean. Occasional pencil notations.
