An anthology of poetry selected and arranged with notes by Francis Turner Palgrave, in a pleasing full crushed morocco binding signed Macmillan. Originally published in 1861, this copy was issued in 1890 in a limited edition of five hundred copies printed, each signed by the author, of which the present is number three-hundred-and-eighty-three. This edition was revised with input from Alfred Lord Tennyson, to whom the volume is dedicated, at the time poet laureate.

Consisting in a collection of the best lyrical pieces and songs in the English language, this revised edition excludes all poems by poets then still alive. Complete with half title.

Condition

In a full crushed morocco binding signed Macmillan with gilt to the top edge, marbled endpapers. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, some chipping and minor loss to the tail of the spine, minor rubbing to the spine. Signed by the author to the limitation page. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.
