Rudyard Kipling is best known for his novel 'The Jungle Book', however he was a prolific writer of poems, novels, and short stories. Being born in India inspired much of his work, and he went on to become one of the most popular writers of his time.

Containing;

'Soldiers Three', the sixth edition, dated 1890.

'The Story of the Gadsbys, a Tale Without a Plot', the third edition of this work, undated. Dated 1890 from Jisc from a copy held at the Hathi Trust Digital Library.

'In Black and White', undated. Dated 1890 from Jisc from a copy held at the Hathi Trust Digital Library.

'Under the Deodars', undated. Dated 1890 from Jisc from a copy held at the Hathi Trust Digital Library.

'Phantom 'Rickshaw and Other Tales', undated. Prior owner's ink inscription to the head of the title page. Dated 1890 from Jisc from a copy held at the Hathi Trust Digital Library.

The last five works in this volume were published in Prayagraj.

Condition

In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards, rebacked with the original boards and spine restores. A little rubbing to the boards and spine, with a small amount of loss to the extremities. Evidence of former loss to the spine. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean with some odd spots. Prior owner's ink inscription to the head of the title page of 'Phantom 'Rickshaw and Other Tales'.
