    Description

    Colour Plates, Illustrated, Leather Binding

    Colour illustrations throughout all volumes. With sixteen plates to volume I, fourteen plates to volume II and sixteen plates to volume III. Lacking 'The 35th Royal Sussex' plate to volume II. Collated, has forty-six of a total of forty-seven plates (forty-seven including title pages and frontispieces). With all three volumes as issued. This is an extensive descriptive work on the various regiments in the army of the Queen of England both at home and Empire-wide. Includes the Bengal cavalry, Welsh regiment, Australasian forces, Victorian Forces, New Zealand Forces, Norfolk, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and more. Undated, dated using Copac.

    Condition

    In uniform half calf bindings with cloth covered boards. Externally, very smart with minor rubbing to the raised bands and extremities. A few light marks to the boards. Offsetting to endpapers. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages and plates are very bright. Ink spills to the rear of plate at page 227 to volume I, 'The 68th Durham Light Infantry' not affecting the image itself. Vignette title pages are closely cropped to volumes I and II, resulting in a very small amount of loss to the head and tail of title pages. Creasing to the corners of several pages to volume II. The odd spot throughout.
