'Three Men in a Boat' is a humorous travelogue detailing a two-week boating holiday along the Thames. It was intended to be a travel guide, but the comedic style and lengthy sentimental passages gave it a reputation for being a comedy. The author followed it with a sequel set on bicycles in Germany.
Jerome K. Jerome (1859-1927) was an English writer best known for this work.
This is a first edition, in the publisher's original binding. The second state, with '11 Quay Street' to the title page.

Condition
In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally generally smart, a stain to the back board, bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Ownership bookplate to a hospital library to the front pastedown. Internally generally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean.
