Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

This is an interesting edition of The Complete Angler , which was first published in 1653 and Walton continued to add to it for a quarter of a century. 

Izaak Walton was an English writer best known for this volume of work, The Complete Angler. The text is a celebration of the art and spirit of fishing in prose and verse. Charles Cotton was Walton's friend and brother angler. 

This volume includes eight original plates etchings and seventy four wood engravings throughout the text. 
Collated, complete.

Condition

In the publisher's original red cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. The joints and extremities are a little faded and rubbed and the spine is a little faded. There are some marks to the boards. There is a previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper. Rear hinge is starting but remains firm. Internally, firmly bound with bright clean pages with the odd spot to the first and last few pages.
