This work is a biography combined with the letters of Rogers.
Rogers was a Romantic contemporary of the likes of Byron, Wordsworth and Coleridge, enjoying enormous success in his lifetime and even rejecting the chance to be Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom on account of his advanced age.
Written by Peter Clayden, a British journalist and author. He also completed a life of Samuel Rogers and later married Rogers's great-niece.
The first edition of this work, complete in two volumes.
Condition
In a half crushed morocco binding. Externally a trifle worn, with rubbing resulting in loss to the head of the spine and the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
