Illustrated with frontispiece. A collection of writings including: fifteen days on the Danube, sketches of sport in Hungary, bear-shooting in Transylvania, ornithological sketches in Spain and from the east, and a few autumn notes. Written by His Imperial and Royal Highness the Late Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria, heir apparent to the imperial throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from birth. In 1889, he died in a suicide pact with his mistress Mary Vetsera at the Mayerling hunting lodge. The ensuing scandal made international headlines. Translated by C. G. Danford.

In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, sound with slight rubbing to the extremities. Minor shelf wear and bumping. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light age toning to the endpapers.
