Author's Presentation Copy, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

An author's presentation copy, inscribed to the recto to the front endpaper, 'F. H. Grove, Esq, with the author's kind regards'. An interesting look at the history and state of the volcano Mount Vesuvius. With a frontispiece, and nineteen plates, one of which is colour. Written by J. Logan Lobley, who was the Professor of Physiography in the City of London College. Misbound by the original binder, with pages 225 to 240 has been misbound between pages 208 and 209. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, though with some discoloration to the boards. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. A little fading to the spine. Author's inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the occasional light spot.
