First Edition, Illustrated
In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding, with gilt edges. Bookplate to the front paste down. Front free end paper embossed with stamp from W. H. Smith & Son, London. 20 plates. Collated complete. George Finch Mason (1850-1915) was a sporting artist, author and illustrator, specialising in humorous studies and caricatures. He was a frequent contributor to many publications including The Sporting Times and Punch. 16 pages of advertisements for the publisher's other works to the rear.
Condition
In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Spine is sunned with slight wear to the head and tail, but both boards have good colour and the gilt decoration is still bright. Internally, binding is slightly strained in a couple of places. Pages bright and clean.
