Illustrated with a monochrome plate as the frontispiece for each volume. With only small parts of the two folding maps remaining as they have been removed. Collated.
Prize book plate from 1890 to the first pastedown and prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper from 1966.
Condition
In half morocco binding and cloth boards. Externally, smart. There is some heavy rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and slight rubbing to the extremities. The joints are also rubbed. Prize book plate from 1890 to the first pastedown and prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper from 1966. The front hinge is strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot. Only some parts of the maps remain as they have been removed and torn.
