Undated, dated from copies held at The British Library.

Very scarce, less common than its American counterpart.

With a frontispiece and many in text illustrations by Frederic Remington, the most successful Western illustrator in the Golden Age of illustration. Collated complete. 

Rebound in an institutional binding with stamps, and other library notations and labels to the paste downs and the occasional leaf.

The second of Roosevelt's series of four books on hunting and ranching, the work follows his experiences working on a ranch in the west of the country. Roosevelt owned a ranch on the Little Missouri in Dakota Territory, and details the struggles and charms of ranching and hunting in the area. The work covers a number of his adventures in the area, including cowboys, hunting bear and his time spent as deputy sheriff.

Condition

Rebound in an institutional binding with stamps, and other library notations and labels to the paste downs and the occasional leaf. Externally generally smart with rubbing to the extremities and leather. The odd mark to the board. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with the occasional library stamp or notation particularly to the recto of the title page.
