Walter Scott is best known for his historical novels and poems, including 'Waverley', 'Ivanhoe', and 'The Lady of the Lake'. 'The Lay of the Last Minstrel' was the first poem of his that brought him into the spotlight of the public's eye, establishing him as one of the most popular writers of his time.

In a full calf binding. Externally, smart. Light fading to the spines. Minor bumping to the extremities. Light marks to the boards and spines, including a little rubbing to the spines. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper of Volume I. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some scattered spotting. Prior owner's ink inscription to the half-title of Volume II.
