'Our Rarer Birds', published in 1888. Illustrated with a frontispiece, one plate, and nineteen in-text engravings. Collated, complete. Two pages of publisher's adverts to the rear.

'Jottings About Birds', published in 1893. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece. Collated, complete.

Illustrated by Charles Whymper, J. G. Keulemans, and J. Smit.

Stamp of P. F. Bunyard to the front pastedown of 'Our Rarer Birds'. Prior owner's ink inscription to the verso to the front endpaper of 'Jottings About Birds', 'Frederica Ida Chynoweth, with Kathleen's love, July 24th 1899'.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth bindings. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Small patches of rubbing to the boards and spines. Small mark to the front board of 'Jottings About Birds'. Small crack to the rear joint of 'Our Rarer Birds'. Spines are a touch faded. Stamp to the front pastedown of 'Our Rarer Birds'. Prior owner's ink inscription to the verso to the front endpaper of 'Jottings About Birds'. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and clean with a few odd spots.
