A complete four volume set of the Cyclopedia of Painters and Paintings, edited by John Denison Champlin with the critical editor of Charles C. Perkins. This volume is a comprehensive yet accessible cyclopedia of painting.
The first volume covers AAG-Dye, the second volume covers EAK-KYH, the third volume covers LAA-QUO and the fourth volume covers RAA-ZYL.
Each volume has a frontispiece and the four volumes are richly illustrated throughout the text with outlines of paintings, portraits of painters and with monograms and signatures. With more than two thousand illustrations across the four volumes.
All uniformly re-bound in half morocco by Hatchards.

Condition
Re-bound in half morocco with cloth covered boards. Externally, very smart with some fading to the spines and a few light marks to the boards. With a bookplate to the front pastedown of each volume for Sir William Eden, Bart. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
