What Our Customers Say...

Description

Illustrated, Scarce

New series volume X covering July to December 1887. Illustrated throughout. The Theatre was well known in late nineteenth century London. Clement Scott was an influential English theatre critic for the Daily Telegraph, and a playwright and travel writer, in the final decades of the 19th century. His style of criticism - acerbic, flowery, and (perhaps most importantly) carried out on the first night of productions, set the standard for theatre reviewers through to today.

Condition

In a contemporary cloth binding with gilt motif to the front board. Externally, lightly rubbed with fading and shelfwear to the spine. Internally, generally firmly bound, and generally clean, although with the odd spot and handling mark.
