What Our Customers Say...

Description

Early Edition, Folding Maps, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon

First UK edition of Guatemala The Land of the Quetzal, A Sketch, by William Tufts Brigham in the original publisher's pictorial cloth binding.

An uncommon edition.

William Brigham was an American geologist, ethnologist, and botanist. He was also the first director of the Bernice P. Bishop Museum in Honolulu.

He wrote many works on US colonies in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Densely illustrated with many in-text engravings, twenty six monochrome plates, and five maps, two of which are folding. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The spine is faded and discoloured. There are some light marks to the boards. The hinges are starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot.
