This volume details the adventures of the Cumming Club, detailing anecdotes of a teacher - James Cumming - and his students at the Edinburgh academy, an independent school established in 1824. Anecdotes and brief biographies of students are compiled by Lt. Colonel Alexander Fergusson.

In a quarter paper vellum binding. Externally bright. Paper vellum spine is discoloured, with shelfwear to the top and tail of spine, and extremities. Small split to the bottom of the front joint, the front hinge remains firm. Former owner's inscription at front free endpaper. Frontispiece with tissue guard intact. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
