An uncommon edition of Charles Lamb's version of the popular fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. Undated, dated from Library Hub 1887. 

Written in verses, with songs, and with an introduction by Andrew Lang. 

Embellished with eight charming plates. 

Two leaves of advertisements to the rear.

Condition

In the original publisher's binding with paper covered boards. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only and a slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Inscribed in pencil by a previous owner to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Embellished with charming plates.
