What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Very Scarce

In the publisher's original pictorial paper binding. Very scarce, Hampton page 77 but only recording the second edition of 1900. Even rarer in the publisher's pictorial boards as here. Complete with seldom seen ads to the rear. Ink inscription to the first blank page, dated 1887. 54 illustrations in the text, chiefly of equipment. Collated complete. Bickerdyke's guide to sea fishing with rod and line, with an account of hand-lining. He provides advice on equipment, sea fishing from different locations, and a description of different types of fish that may be caught. Some wonderful advertisements to the first page and to the rear, very evocative of the era, and the publisher's catalogue to the rear.

Condition

In the publisher's original pictorial paper binding. Externally smart, with some wear and a loss to the spine and some spotting. Internally the binding is generally firm, except for some strain to the binding of the fourth page of the rear advertisements. Pages bright and clean with just some spotting to the first and last pages.
