    Volume IV, 'The Philoctetes', the first edition of this work.  Four pages of publisher's adverts to the rear.

    Volume V, 'The Trachiniae', the first edition of this work.

    Volume VI, 'The Electra', the first edition of this work.

    Volume VII, 'The Ajax', the first edition of this work.

    'Virgil in English Verse', translated by Charles Bowen, the second edition of this work published in 1889 by John Murray. Containing 'Eclogues' and 'Aeneid I-VI'. Illustrated with a frontispiece

    Condition

    In a half vellum binding with cloth to the boards, a signed binding by Bumpus. Externally, smart. A few light spots to the boards. A little discolouration to the spines. Hinges of Volume II are starting but firm. Front hinge of Volume III is starting but firm. Front hinge of Volume VI is starting but firm. Spots to the fore edges. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown of Volume I, to the verso to the front free endpaper of Volume II, to the front pastedown of Volume IV, and to the front pastedown of 'Virgil'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd spot to the first and last few pages.
