What Our Customers Say...

Description

Folding Plates, Illustrated, Leather Binding

A composite bound volume containing a selection of the beautiful architectural lithograph plates originally issued in 'The Builder' magazine from 1887 to 1895. The spine states 1891-95 as the date, but plates in the volume are dated as early as 1887 to 1895.

Bound with eight folding plates, one-hundred and nine double-paged plates, and fifty-three plates.

'The Builder' was founded by Joseph Aloysius Hansom in 1843. Under the editorship of George Godwin the magazine became an important and successful professional architectural magazine. Henry Heathcote Statham was the editor of the journal during the years that these plates were issued.

Published monthly, this magazine reached a wide readership within the public.
