With most of her novels set in provincial England, Eliot's works are known for their realism, psychological insight, sense of place and detailed depiction of the countryside.

Volumes I to VI, and volume IX are undated; dated from copies held in the University of Cambridge Libraries, the University of Oxford Libraries, and the University of Leeds Libraries.

Condition

In half calf bindings. Externally generally smart, with a little rubbing to the raised bands, joints and extremities. Gilt remains bright. Rear hinge is starting to Felix Holt but remains firmly held. Cracking to the tail of the front joint to Middlemarch, causing the backstrip to lift slightly. Small losses to the head of the spine, and hinges starting but firmly held, to Daniel Deronda. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the first and last couple of pages.
