First edition. Three editions simultaneously published, this is the demy octavo, and is neither limited nor signed. Illustrated with thirty-seven plates, many of which are hand coloured or heightened by hand with gold and silver. Two of these plated are folding. Collated complete. An examination of the most popular fashions from the year of 1807, providing an insight into the attitudes to style at the start of the nineteenth century. With information gathered from the monthly issues of twenty-four periodicals publishing fashion journalism over the course of the year. Written by Andrew White Tuer, a British publisher, writer, and printer.
Condition
In the original half reverse calf with paper covered boards. Embroidered labels to the spine and front board with the original embroidered ribbon bookmark. Externally, smart with shelf wear, minor bumping and chipping to the extremities. Sunning to the spine and marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot, particularly to the first and last few pages.
