First edition of The Book Fancier; or the Romance of Book Collecting by Percy Fitzgerald in the original publisher's cloth binding. 

This scarce book about book collecting includes topics such as 'Of Binding and its Curiosities', 'Of the Auction-Room' and 'Curiosities of Printing'. 

Prior owner's ink inscription to the first pastedown from 1892. Newspaper clipping of a column on 'books about books' attached to the first free endpaper.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There are some slight light marks to the boards and spine. The front hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first pastedown from 1892. Newspaper clipping of a column on 'books about books' attached to the first free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot.
