In a very smart full calf Harrow prize binding.

Bookplate of John William Jenkins to the front pastedown.

A lovely copy of this work, which is a 'New Edition' of Hartwig's general view of the phenomena of the atmosphere. In this work Hartwig's intentions were to point out the manifold relations between the aerial ocean and man, as well as to describe the life of which it is the ever busy scene. 

Illustrated, with eight plates a map and numerous woodcuts.

Condition

In a full calf binding, with gilt stamping to the spine and boards. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing to the raised bands and joints. A few light marks to the boards. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Occasional light scattered spots to pages.
