What Our Customers Say...

Description

An Important Work, Early Edition, Leather Binding

The second edition of this novel.

Bound with the scarce half title and publisher's adverts to the rear.

Rebound, in a half calf binding, with paper covered boards.

Prior owner's inscription to the verso of front endpaper, 'Ex Libris C.A.D'. A second inscription to the half-title.

This second edition was issued the same year as the first.

The titular characters of this important work has entered into the vernacular for people with a dual nature. Stevenson was long intrigued by the idea of how human personalities can affect how to incorporate the interplay of good and evil into a story.

This tale centres on Gabriel John Utterson, who investigates strange occurences between his old friend, Dr Henry Jekyll, and the evil Edward Hyde.

A smart, and very bright copy of this important piece of literature.
