A new edition. First published in 1885.

With eight pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear of the work.

Profusely illustrated throughout by Lt Gen H. Hope Crealocke. Henry Hope Crealocke was a British soldier, artist and author, best known for his wartime sketches published in the periodical The Illustrated London News.

This charming work details the author's experiences regarding fox-hunting, salmon fishing, covert shooting and deer stalking, also containing a number of charming poems on the subject.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. General shelf wear to the boars. A small amount of loss to the cloth at the head and tail of the spine, and slight splitting of the cloth to the head of the front joint. Internally, hinges are strained. Remaining binding is firm. Heavy spotting to the frontispiece and title page, and some spotting to the first and last few pages of the book, otherwise pages are generally bright and clean.
