    Early Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

    American author Washington Irving's nostalgic Christmas tales from nineteenth century England, the fifth edition. Text is adorned with illustrations by popular illustrator R. Caldecott.

    Condition

    In the original publisher's full cloth binding with decorative gilt tooling to front board and spine. Externally sound with shelf wear, bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, damp marks to boards and spine. Previous owner's gift inscription to verso front free endpaper, dated 1894. Bookworm marks to margins affecting first few leaves and last few leaves. Pages generally bright and clean.
