Volume VI only of a very scarce work, which was published in eight volumes from 1881-1888.
Benjamin Ball and Jules Bernard Luys edited and authored many articles in this journal on matters of the brain, discussing various psychological and medical experiments.
Illustrated with one mounted photographic plate, and a small number of vignettes.
With the stamp of the Royal Medico Psychological Association Library to the title page, with their stamp also to the verso of the first plate.
With a bookplate to the front pastedown in which Dr Blacknell presents the work to the library of the Medico-Psychological Association.
Retaining the original half title.

Condition
Rebound in cloth, with endpapers renewed. Paper label to back strip tail, with small closed tear to back strip head. Front hinge strained but firmly held. Hinges reinforced with cloth. Bookplate partially adhered to front pastedown. Library stamp to title page, and verso of first plate. Pages lightly age toned, but generally clean and bright. Significant closed tear to head of page 642.
