With a tipped-in errata slip to verso of illustration contents page. With hunting advertisements to front and last pages for companies such as John Rigby and Co, Charles Lancaster and Stephen Grant. Illustrated throughout with six monochrome plates. Plate six has been removed from page eighty seven and tipped in to page one hundred and fifteen. This fascinating work is one of the earliest examples of a work solely dedicated to the intricacies of deer hunting and covers a wide range of aspects of the sport including clothing, guns and the hunt itself.

Condition

In a red cloth binding with gilt hunter to front board. Externally smart with bumping to the extremities and the head and tail of the spine. Sunning to spine. Book slightly cocked. Areas of damp staining to front board. Hinges slightly strained but firm. Blind stamp for W. H. Smith library to front free endpaper. Internally generally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with mild age toning and the odd spot, heavier to the first and last few pages. Ink marks to pages sixteen to seventeen. Plate six has been removed from page eighty seven and tipped in to page one hundred and fifteen. Small closed tear to page fifty seven.
