A fascinating historical account of the first of Julius Caesar's landings in Britain. Over two thousand years ago, Julius Caesar decided to expand his empire in Britain. This volume comprises the landing as well as Caesar's battles with ancient Britons, and an account of early British trade and enterprise.

Condition

In quarter calf binding with marbled boards, with titles stamped in gilt to spine and four raised bands. Externally, lovely with minor shelfwear only. Taped to recto title page, a note inscribed by a previous owner in pencil, undated. Kenn Back's bookplate to front pastedown. Landaburu sticker to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Slight offsetting to title page due tot he type of paper and minor spotting throughout. Fair marks to page 225.
