Victorian travel writer Lady Anna Brassey describes her voyage across the Atlantic in 1883. With nearly three hundred in-text illustrations. This travelogue describes Brassey's journey from England to Madeira, from Madeira to Trinidad, onto Venezuela, and around the Caribbean. Lady Brassey's best selling book A Voyage in the Sunbeam, our Home on the Ocean for Eleven Months describes her voyage around the world on the same yacht. Bookplate of George Evelyn Cower to the front pastedown. Ink inscription to the half title. 'E. Alexander. From H. Adderley' Binder's sticker to the rear pastedown. Bound by 'Simpson and Renshaw'.

Condition

In the publisher's original decorative cloth binding. Externally, sound. Rubbed to the boards, and the spine. The spine is cockled, and lightly bumped to the head and tail. Some light wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd spot.
