In the publisher's original cloth binding. Inscribed by the author to William Borland Esq. to the preface of Volume I. Folding map to the rear of Volume I. John Ure (1824–1901) was a Scottish merchant who served as Lord Provost of Glasgow from 1880 to 1883. In these two volumes is his account of his travels around the world. He devotes much of this account to his travels in Australia, New Zealand and the South Sea Islands.
Condition
In publisher's original cloth bindings. Externally very smart, with minimal bumping to the extremities and the joints. Good colour to both volumes. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the first few pages and some offsetting to the paste downs and end papers of both volumes. Folding map in excellent condition.
