'Voyage Sentimental' follows Reverend Mr Yorick on his adventures, usually amorous, through France and Italy.

The novel was very popular upon its publication, and helped to establish travel writing as a dominant genre.

Written by Laurence Sterne. Sterne was a novelist and clergyman, best known for his 'The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy', and 'A Sentimental Journey Through France and Italy'. Sterne discovered his talent and love for writing late in his life, after writing 'A Political Romance' in support of his dean in a church squabble. After this, he dedicated himself to writing, beginning 'Tristram Shandy' and publishing in 1759. It was successful upon its publication, and he received a lot of praise and admiration for his work.

Translated into French by Emile Blemont.

Illustrated by Maurice Leloir.
