The autobiography of Edmund Yates, the noted Victorian journalist and dramatist.
Yates was known for his contributions to Dickens' 'All the Year Round' and 'Household Words'.
Volume I illustrated with a frontispiece, a vignette title page, and one plate. Forty-eight pages of publisher's adverts to the rear.
Volume II illustrated with a frontispiece, a vignette tile page, and one plate.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with some marking to the boards and spines. Bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities, with small closed tears to the head of the spine, a larger tear to the head of the spine of Volume II. Front hinges are strained but remain firm, rear hinges are starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spotting. Endpapers and half-title of Volume II are detaching.
