Illustrated, Leather Binding, Rebound

The full title of this volume reads: The Animal-Lore of Shakespeare's time including Quadrupeds, Birds, Reptiles, Fish and Insects. From the Preface: "The object of the following compilation is to bring together in an accessible form waifsd and strays of information, collected from various sources, relating to medieval natural history, so far as animal life is concerned."

Condition

In a contemporary amateur half leather binding with cloth covered boards. Externally, generally smart, lightly rubbed in places. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with some scattered light foxing and age-toning. There is an ink inscription to the half-title page, dated 1891.
