Description

Vere Foster (1819-1900) was an English philanthropist and teacher known for his artistic copybooks, including ‘Elementary Drawing Copybooks’, ‘Advanced Water-colour Drawing’ and ‘Painting for Beginners’.

Lacking a title page.

Undated; dated from copies on Jisc.

Containing both vignette illustrations and tipped in illustrations in full colour. In a pictorial binding.

An uncommon work.

Condition

In a full cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with some wear to extremities and the head and tail of the spine and a small stain to the cloth. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just the odd spot.
