Oliver Goldsmith (1730 – 1774) was an Anglo-Irish novelist, playwright and poet. The Vicar of Wakefield is a novel by Irish writer Oliver Goldsmith. It was written in 1761 and 1762, and published in 1766, and was one of the most popular and widely read 18th-century novels among Victorians. Tipped-in Frontispiece.

Condition

In a blue calf armorial binding with gilt lettering to spine. Externally sound, lightly rubbed in places. Prize bookplate to front pastedown dated 1887. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean pages throughout save for some minor tidemarks.
