What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, Illustrated, Leather Binding

A first edition. This is a popular work on account of its luxurious illustrations.

With fifty-two full plates in colour and black and white by the author.  Comprising 17 chromolithographs, and 35 wood engraved plates.

Contains chapters on Mexican antiquities, hotels, railways, coinage, ruins, amusements and churches.

With institutional library stamps to the front pastedown, with no other evidence through the work; these have been rubbed out by a previous owner and so are faded.

Condition

In a half calf binding. Externally slightly rubbed, with wear to the boards and rubbing to the spine and extremities resulting in slight loss to the leather. Internally front hinge is strained but firm, otherwise firmly bound, pages are bright and clean. The remnants of ex libris stamps to the front pastedown only, which have been rubbed away.
