Written by Margaret Sim, who was housekeeper at Rossdhu House, the seat of Sir James Colquhoun of Colquhoun and Luss. Both James Boswell and Samuel Johnson were entertained by Rossdhu House in 1773.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Rubbing to the boards and spine, with some light marks and a little discolouration to the spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Hinges are starting but firm. Paste downs and endpapers are discoloured. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spots, a little heavier to the first and last few pages.
