First Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding

First edition. Illustrated with frontispiece, sixteen plates and one in-text illustration. Collated, missing plate to face page 166. Following the "Alert" from England to Trinidad, Patagonia, Chile, Tahiti, Fiji, Sydney, and Singapore. Written by Richard William Coppinger, a British Navy surgeon and naturalist.

Condition

In the original green cloth binding. Externally, sound with slight rubbing and bumping to the extremities. The odd mark to the board. Joints starting but remain reasonably firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
