This work was the first such survey of the country, an important work that continued to be the standard reference work on the subject for decades to come.
Witts looks at the ancient camps, Roman villas, long barrows, round barrows, and British and Roman roads.

Condition
In the original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with light marks to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Spine is a little faded. Some spots to the fore edge. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spotting, heavier to the first and last few pages.
