1883 A Sweet Little Dear
What Our Customers Say...
Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
A delightful children's book by the notable children's author Juliana Horatia Ewing. Ewing was a 19th century children's writer, whose christian faith was an incredibly influential on her work. Unlike many of her peers, Ewing was incredibly sympathetic towards the lives of children, and were incredibly well received. Published by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, the oldest Anglican mission organisation, who produced and distributed a large quantity of Christian literature. Charmingly illustrated throughout, with depictions by R. Andre. A desirable work of nineteenth century children's literature, very scarce to find in any edition.
Hardback. Externally, sound. Loss to the backstrip, with remaining backstrip lifting from the spine. Bumping the extremities. Rubbing to the front and rear boards, with the odd mark. Light offsetting and foxing to the front pastedown and endpapers. Inscription to the front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound, strained in places. Pages are lightly spotted, with the odd handling mark.
