Leather Binding

A new edition. Including his contributions to Knight's Quarterly Magazine, The Edinburgh Review, Encyclopaedia Britannica as well as miscellaneous poems, inscriptions etc. Thomas Babington Macaulay was a British historian and Whig politician. He wrote many essays and reviews on authors, history, politics and religion.

Condition

In a full calf binding with gilt stamping to the spine and board edges. Externally, generally smart with patches of rubbing to the raised bands and to the head and tail of spine. Evidence of repair to the spine label, with some remnants of adhesive. Tide mark to rear board due to damp staining. Prior owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper, E J Bonham 20th Aug 1903. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with scattered spots to endpapers and the odd spot throughout.
