The second edition of this uncommon work.

An extensive study on Clan Lindsay, from their earliest days to the late Victorian era.

The family date as far back as the Domesday Book, and had familial connections to the Scottish royal family. 

Illustrated with a frontispiece, and eight plates.

Written by Andrew Jervise, a Scottish antiquarian and compositor. He was inspired to write this work after the Earl of Crawford published 'Lives of the Lindsays'.

This second edition was rewritten and corrected by James Gammack.

Including an appendix. 

Bookplate of T. & M. James to the front paste down.

Condition

In a half morocco binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, smart. Spine is a little faded. Minor bumping to the extremities. Very light rubbing to the spine. Light marks to the boards and spine, heavier to the rear board. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
