    Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

    The scarce first edition of this uncommon book of recipes by Mrs Henry Reeve. Scarce in all editions.

    Illustrated with eight striking coloured plates and numerous woodcut vignette illustrations. Collated, complete. With half title and index to rear. 

    Containing hints for the household management and numerous recipes including those for soups, meats, vegetables, garnishes, bread and cakes, &c. With a chapters concerned with cookery for invalids and for menus.

    Condition

    In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally sound with shelf wear, bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, boards lightly marked and rubbed, gentle damp marks to rear. Two leaves of preface loose but present. Previous ownership inscription to half title. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean.
