Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
In a smart pictorial cloth binding. 'Bracebridge Hall' was originally published using the pseudonym 'Geoffrey Crayon'. It is a series of character sketches, with individual plots. It centres on the occupants of an English manor based on Aston Hall near Birmingham. Written by the American short story writer and historian best known for 'Rip Van Winkle' and 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow'. Illustrated by Randolph Caldecott, an English artist and illustrator. The 'Caldecott Medal' was named in his honour. A lovely copy of this noted humorous work.
Condition
In the original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned to edges. Spots to endpapers, and otherwise pages are clean.
