Penned by Charles Kingsley (1819-1875), a priest, professor, novelist, poet and friend of Charles Darwin. His other works include 'The Water-Babies', 'Westward-Ho!' and 'Hypatia'.

Complete in two volumes. 

Bound by Bickers and Son, London. With gilt edges and spines.

Condition

In a half crushed morocco binding by Bickers. Externally very smart; joint of volume I is a little worn. Slight rubbing to the tail of the spine of volume I. Internally, firmly bound; volume II is particularly tightly bound affecting the rear hinge. Pages are bright and clean.
